Who we are

AskMOTT is a photography education business operated by photographer and educator Justin Mott, based in Vietnam. AskMOTT offers an online photography community, coaching, portfolio reviews, mentorship, workshops, educational content and digital products through askmott.com.

For a privacy question or request, use the AskMOTT contact page. Kajabi provides the website platform and processes customer information for AskMOTT as a service provider.

Information we handle

Information you provide

We handle information you choose to provide when you contact us, join the newsletter, create an account, join the community, book coaching or a workshop, purchase a product, or submit work for review. This may include:

• your name, email address and account details;
• messages, enquiries and booking information;
• purchase and transaction records;
• photographs, project details or other material you intentionally submit; and
• community posts, comments and profile information you choose to share.

Information from your use of the site

The site and approved service providers may receive technical information such as IP address, browser and device type, requested pages, visit time, referring page and interactions with site features. Optional analytics and embedded media remain off until you make the relevant choice in the cookie banner.

How and why we use information

When consent is the basis, you can withdraw it for future use at any time. Withdrawal does not affect use that took place before you changed your choice.

04 · Communication

Newsletter and marketing

If you ask to receive the AskMOTT newsletter, we use the contact details you provide to send it. You can unsubscribe through the link in any marketing email. Unsubscribing from marketing does not stop necessary messages about an account, booking, purchase or service you requested.

AskMOTT does not currently send SMS marketing. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.

05 · Commerce

Purchases and payments

Purchases and bookings are processed through Kajabi and the payment service shown at checkout, which may include Stripe or Kajabi Payments. The applicable payment provider receives the payment and device information it needs to complete a transaction, authenticate a customer and prevent fraud. AskMOTT does not receive your complete payment card number.

06 · Cookies

Cookies, storage and your choices

Cookies and similar browser storage help a website remember information. We use CookieYes to record and apply your choices and to keep optional technologies off until you choose whether to allow them. CookieYes is configured to ask for your choice again after 180 days, or sooner if the purposes, providers or categories materially change.

CookieYes and the newsletter prompt use limited first-party preference storage. The newsletter values are created only after you dismiss the prompt, submit its form, or Kajabi confirms a successful signup. They contain timestamps, not your name or email address.

The privacy preference centre shows the current cookie list produced by the most recent CookieYes scan.

If the preference centre is unavailable, you can also delete or block cookies in your browser. Blocking necessary cookies may prevent account, checkout or security features from working.

Sharing and international processing

We provide information to service providers only as needed to operate AskMOTT, deliver a requested service, process a payment, provide support, measure the site after consent, or protect the service. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a business reorganisation subject to applicable safeguards.

Information you choose to publish in an AskMOTT community area, including a profile, post, comment or photograph, may be visible to other people who have access to that area. Review what you share before posting it.

AskMOTT and its providers may process information in more than one country. Where applicable law requires it, providers use recognised transfer mechanisms and safeguards for international processing.

09 · Safeguards

Retention and security

We keep information only for as long as reasonably needed to provide the requested service, maintain appropriate account and transaction records, meet tax or legal duties, resolve disputes and protect AskMOTT. Retention depends on the type of record and the reason it is held. You may ask us to delete information, subject to legal and operational limits.

AskMOTT and its providers use administrative, technical and organisational measures intended to protect information. No internet transmission or storage system is completely secure, so please do not send unnecessary sensitive information through ordinary email or contact forms.

Your choices and privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of personal information; to object to or restrict certain uses; or to withdraw consent. You may also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority. AskMOTT does not use solely automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects.

To make a request, use the AskMOTT contact page. We may need information to verify the request and will respond as required by applicable law.

11 · Other sites

Children and external links

AskMOTT is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child in breach of applicable law. Anyone below the age at which they can consent in their country should use a paid service, workshop or community only with the involvement and permission of a parent or legal guardian where required.

The site links to third-party websites. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.

12 · Updates

Changes and contact

We may update this policy when AskMOTT, its service providers or legal requirements change. The current version will appear here with a revised effective date. If a change materially affects an existing consent choice, we will ask for a new choice through the cookie banner.
